Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7:00 pm, for a 90 minute presentation, "Countering Active Threats," led by John Colangelo, Community Service Director for the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, Secure Community Network (SCN). 

The purpose of this training is to provide a greater understanding of an active threat incident. Along with this understanding, the training stresses the importance of proactively planning to deal with these types of incidents. It also stresses that people must accept responsibility for their own survival. 

Learning objectives: Know the difference between security and safety; identify and explain modes of action during active shooter incident: RUN, HIDE, FIGHT; how to prepare for an active threat event; know how to respond to law enforcement's arrival.

Due to the sensitive nature of the information to be presented, the session will not be recorded.
